Granting DoiT temporary access to assume your DoiT account

To make it easier to troubleshoot your support requests, DoiT personnel (support engineers, account managers, etc.) may need to assume the role of a user from your organization. Normally, this would be to replicate the issue you're facing and facilitate faster communication between the engineering and support teams.

The Account Assumption feature allows you to control and provide DoiT personnel access to your DoiT Platform account for a limited time.

To control account assumption, please navigate to Identity & access and select "Account assumption" on the left navigation panel. Check "Enable account assumption" and optionally select a time limit.

Introducing Aggregating Flexsave Projects for Easier Analytics

We are excited to announce a new feature that will make it easier for you to reconcile your AWS or GCP costs grouped by GCP Project or Account. If you're a Flexsave customer, you may have seen a handful of Google Cloud projects or AWS accounts showing up in your Cloud Analytics reports. In some extreme cases, hundreds or even thousands of them could exist.

Instead of showing individual Flexsave projects or accounts, these projects/accounts are now aggregated into a single line under "Project/Account name". When you view your AWS or GCP costs, you will see a single line for all Flexsave projects.

Introducing Industry Standard Names for Cloud Analytics Breakdown by GCP Projects or AWS Accounts

We are excited to announce a new feature that will make DoiT Cloud Analytics easier for our customers. With this feature, you can now break down your cloud usage by GCP Project or AWS Account using industry-standard names.

This improvement provides a more comprehensive view of your cloud usage and spending, allowing you to understand better how your resources are utilized across different projects or accounts. You can quickly identify areas of overspending or underutilization and take action to optimize your cloud resources.

To access this new feature, sign in to your Cloud Analytics dashboard and select Project/Account ID, Project/Account Name or Project/Account Number.

New and Improved Reports UI

As part of our ongoing commitment to helping you make the most of the DoiT Console, we’re excited to announce an improved Reports UI. Create a new report or open an existing report to view the changes!

The new UI makes it easier for you to configure reports. We streamlined it, reducing the number of clicks and scrolling needed to access the most-used settings. We also reduce the noise, making it easier to focus on the information you need.

With this new and improved Reports UI, we hope you will find it easier to understand your cloud consumption. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any feedback or suggestions!

Do highly configurable cost allocations with your new Attributions builder

We've updated your Attributions builder, enabling you to perform highly configurable cost allocation. Unsure how to use Attributions? Read below👇.

In the DoiT Console you create Attributions to represent custom cost categories you want to allocate costs to. For example, many companies allocate costs by environment, product lines or — like in the image above — teams.

Attributions help you define these cost categories by allowing you to group different cloud resources (projects/accounts, labels/tags, etc.) together.

They're are one of the more powerful FinOps capabilities you have in the DoiT Console. Once created, you can use them to drive cost awareness and accountability in many different ways.

Wanna learn more about building Attributions? Check out these videos:

    • Using Attributions in cost analysis reports [1 min.]

Subscribing to Flexsave is a quick three-step process that's detailed with screenshots in the DoiT Help Center.

No action is required if you already have Flexsave.

Announcing Cloud Analytics Alerts 🚨

Alerts is a new feature that helps you effortlessly monitor your cloud consumption at any level of granularity, so unwanted activity doesn't go unnoticed.

While setting cloud budgets is a great way to stay informed on your cost or usage, they aren’t great for all situations. For example, what if you wanted to know when any of your K8s clusters had a >10% week-over-week spend increase? Or if any compute machines had a day-over-day increase greater than 25%?

Monitoring at this level of granularity using budgets would require a lot of manual work.

But using Alerts, you can do this easily, and much more. Use Alerts to complement your budgets and anomaly detection for a multi-layered defense against cloud overspend.

Watch this 3-min tutorial on creating Alerts (including examples), or check out our documentation to learn more.
