DoiT Forecasting - now more reliable, discoverable, configurable, and readable.

DoiT forecasting is now more reliable, discoverable, configurable, and readable.

Expanded machine learning capabilities, integrating a diverse range of new forecasting models in the backend, accommodate various types of time series data and different durations of historical spending. This new underlying data ensures superior forecasting results across all granularities, including monthly and daily forecasts.

Enhanced customer experience, forecasting is now prominently featured as a primary option in the left menu of DoiT Cloud Analytics. It also allows you to configure your preferred historical period for the model to learn from, as well as your desired forecasting period.

In one of the most commonly used views for reports and dashboard widgets, known as the "stacked column," forecasting is now illustrated through bar charts. This enhancement presents a forecasting range as well for both end-of-month and future projections, moving away from the previous method of displaying a single value at a specific point in time.

How to start:

  1. Log in to the DoiT console, select Analytics from the top navigation bar, then select Reports.

Enhanced Anomaly Detection - Identify unplanned cost spikes on service and SKU level

DoiT Anomaly Detection can now identify unplanned cost spikes at both the service and SKU levels simultaneously, without duplicating the alerts.

Previously, our anomaly detection and alert granularity was at the desired SKU-level to speed up your time-to-resolution when there was an issue. However, when a new SKU was introduced, it took several days to recognize any anomalies due to insufficient data for the machine learning model to analyze effectively. With the recent improvements, we can now detect unplanned cost spikes at the service level, even if they go unnoticed at the SKU level due to data limitations.

Anomalies detected at the service level are automatically flagged and alerted, mirroring the existing functionality for SKU-level cost anomalies. The only visual distinction is that the SKU field will display “ALL” on the list page, view page, and alert notifications.

Monitor Snowflake spend and detect anomalies in Cloud Navigator

DoiT Cloud Navigator now provides the ability to monitor Snowflake costs and usage through an out-of-the-box dashboard – Snowflake Lens – that provides valuable insights via DoiT Cloud Analytics. Additionally, you can leverage Cloud Navigator’s machine learning-based Anomaly Detection and management capability for this spend with no additional configuration.

Previously, managing cloud and Snowflake expenses required using multiple tools or workarounds. With Cloud Navigator, you can now handle both your Snowflake costs and expenses from AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure in a unified manner, enabling you to monitor your major cloud expenses through a single pane of glass. Going forward, we will be releasing integrations with additional service providers, allowing you to expand the reach and effectiveness of your FinOps practices.

To begin monitoring your Snowflake expenses, log into Cloud Navigator and click on the Snowflake Lens tile on the homescreen (you can also see a full demo of the connection process here). Once your data is imported, it becomes accessible across all Cloud Navigator features, including dashboards, reports, attributions, and anomaly detection.

To learn more about Snowflake Lens, take an interactive tour, or consult our documentation in the DoiT Help Center.

DataHub now supports CSV upload

DataHub helps you get a complete overview of your IT costs and understand your unit economics in DoiT Cloud Navigator by ingesting business metrics and cost & usage data from 3rd party tools, and combining that with your cloud billing data.

Previously, DataHub could ingest data via API, but now you can upload third-party usage and billing data (ex. SaaS subscriptions) to DoiT Cloud Navigator by uploading a CSV file containing the information.

Whether you find yourself uploading data at irregular intervals, or simply prefer a less-technical approach than with the DataHub API, CSV upload for Datahub provides a faster and more convenient way to ensure all your IT costs are captured and analyzed in one place.

How to Get Started:

  1. Navigate to the "DataHub" section in the "Account settings" dropdown using the cog wheel icon at the top-right corner of the screen
  2. After creating a dataset, click on the three-dot menu for your dataset, and choose the "Import data" option
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload your file

---

DataHub is available to customers on a DoiT Cloud Navigator Premium tier.

Acknowledge and Categorize Cost Anomalies

Navigator Standard  Navigator Enhanced  Navigator Premium  Navigator Enterprise

You can now mark an active anomaly as reviewed and acknowledged. This helps you distinguish between anomalies that have been addressed or observed and those that still require attention. With the new anomaly detection acknowledgment flow, you can:

Acknowledge an anomaly

On the anomaly detail screen, click “Acknowledge Anomaly.” This action allows you to classify the anomaly as either a true positive or a false positive and provides an option to select the reason for your classification.

Edit an acknowledged anomaly

Click the "Edit" button to change the acknowledgment status of an anomaly you reviewed.

Updated anomaly status

On the Cost Anomalies page, you can now view the acknowledgment status alongside the active or inactive status. This enhancement helps you easily identify anomalies that still require attention.

To learn more about anomaly acknowledgment, check out our documentation in the Help Center.
