Sort by individual column

One of the most requested features since launching the ability to show the differences between columns in our analytics tools, has been the ability to sort.  We are pleased to announce that in any tabular view, you can now sort by an individual column by clicking on that column header.

This feature enhancement will allow you to quickly see the largest % or absolute change, or even the largest cost or savings within a given time period.  We hope this flexibility allows customers to more quickly identify and act on the most important numbers in any given view.

Renamed Dimensions: Project --> Scope

In an effort to provide more consistent analytics across multiple clouds and platforms we are renaming one of the dimensions in our Analytics feature.  Until now the dimension `Project` contained both GCP Projects and AWS Accounts.  This dimension will now be listed as `Scope`. This language is consistent with other areas of our platform that you use today, like Cost Anomalies

In addition, to provide more clarity for AWS customers, we are renaming the dimension `Accounts` to `Billing Accounts`.

New Default Notifications

Starting today, users you invite are assigned default notifications tailored to their Cloud Management Platform IAM role. These notifications are designed to ensure users are informed about important events related to their job function. For example, users with 'Finance User' permission will have 'Cloud Cost Anomalies,' 'Payment Due/Overdue,' and  'New Invoices' notifications enabled by default.

Similarly, users with the 'Power User' role get the 'Cloud Known Issues,' 'Cloud Quota Utilization,' 'Cloud Cost Anomalies', and 'Daily Digest notifications.

Note that these default notifications would only be assigned to the new users you invite and won't affect existing users.

Introducing 'GKE Lens'

GKE Lens provides a way for you to consistently measure your Google Kubernetes Engine clusters against best practices and identify areas for improvement. The GKE Lens dashboard is automatically created when GKE workloads are detected in your accounts and include the following information:

  • GKE nodes cost, including forecast
  • Master nodes cost
  • Top k8s namespaces
  • Top k8s clusters
  • k8s resources breakdown (CPU, memory, disks)
  • Interactive GKE Cost Explorer helping you to drill down from regions to pods interactively.

The information on the GKE Lens is updated every hour to bring the most up-to-date data to your fingertips.

Using GKE but still didn't enable GKE Analytics in Cloud Management Platform? Learn how to onboard yourself to GKE Analytics at https://help.doit-intl.com/cloud-analytics/gke-cost-analytics

Set roles when inviting new users to CMP

Today, we are streamlining the user invitation process by making it possible to specify user roles directly from the "Invite User" dialog.

If your organization is using the "Default role" feature, this role will be preselected automatically when you invite users to the Cloud Management Platform.
