Adding week start date to Week dimension
To improve the human readability of our cloud reporting we have added the week start date to the dimension itself. Previously we show weeks using the universal ISO Format W01 W02 W03 ... W21 W52. Now the format will be
w51 (Dec 20), W52 (Dec 27), W01 (Jan 03) ...
The data is reflective of the Monday that starts the week, consistent with the ISO standard week.
Sort by individual column
One of the most requested features since launching the ability to show the differences between columns in our analytics tools, has been the ability to sort. We are pleased to announce that in any tabular view, you can now sort by an individual column by clicking on that column header.
This feature enhancement will allow you to quickly see the largest % or absolute change, or even the largest cost or savings within a given time period. We hope this flexibility allows customers to more quickly identify and act on the most important numbers in any given view.
[BigQuery Lens updates] Slot-level insights + more
Are you paying flat-rate for BigQuery? Wondering if you should be? In either case, you're going to love this BigQuery Lens update!
What's new with the BigQuery Lens?

- Two new recommendations for 1) optimizing slots usage and 2) reducing spend on on-demand projects by purchasing slots
- Track average and peak slots usage with the new Slots Consumption widget
- Zoom in/out on your BigQuery usage with a time range dropdown
Check out the updates in the video below, or explore them in the BigQuery Lens yourself.
Investigate Budget Cost Drivers
We are pleased to announce the ability to better understand your budget cost drivers by Investigating your budget. This feature opens a Cloud Analytics report grouped by service that allows you to see and understand what costs contribute to your configured budgets. By using the full power of our analytics tools, you can understand quickly what changes in your usage impacted your budget most over its term.
Renamed Dimensions: Project --> Scope
In an effort to provide more consistent analytics across multiple clouds and platforms we are renaming one of the dimensions in our Analytics feature. Until now the dimension `Project` contained both GCP Projects and AWS Accounts. This dimension will now be listed as `Scope`. This language is consistent with other areas of our platform that you use today, like Cost Anomalies
In addition, to provide more clarity for AWS customers, we are renaming the dimension `Accounts` to `Billing Accounts`.
New Default Notifications
Starting today, users you invite are assigned default notifications tailored to their Cloud Management Platform IAM role. These notifications are designed to ensure users are informed about important events related to their job function. For example, users with 'Finance User' permission will have 'Cloud Cost Anomalies,' 'Payment Due/Overdue,' and 'New Invoices' notifications enabled by default.
Similarly, users with the 'Power User' role get the 'Cloud Known Issues,' 'Cloud Quota Utilization,' 'Cloud Cost Anomalies', and 'Daily Digest notifications.
Note that these default notifications would only be assigned to the new users you invite and won't affect existing users.

Introducing 'GKE Lens'
GKE Lens provides a way for you to consistently measure your Google Kubernetes Engine clusters against best practices and identify areas for improvement. The GKE Lens dashboard is automatically created when GKE workloads are detected in your accounts and include the following information:
- GKE nodes cost, including forecast
- Master nodes cost
- Top k8s namespaces
- Top k8s clusters
- k8s resources breakdown (CPU, memory, disks)
