Automate User Management With New APIs

DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ now offers new APIs to facilitate automated user management. Using our new Users API, you can get a list of your users, invite new users, and update or delete existing users.

When inviting new users with the new API, you can optionally assign a non-default role and an organization to them, which you can list with the new Roles and Organizations endpoints.

Map your existing SSO groups to DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ roles

DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ now supports group-based SSO integration so you can automate user access management instead of configuring each user’s role and permissions individually. 

If your team structure is already defined in your SSO groups, you can directly map those same groups to DoiT Cloud Intelligence roles so your users will automatically have the correct permissions when they first log in.

To map your SSO groups to specific roles, navigate to your IdP or the “single sign-on” page in the DoiT console and map your current SSO groups (like "Engineering" or "Finance") to the corresponding roles you want users in those groups to have in DoiT Cloud Intelligence.

Previously, you could configure SSO integration by setting role attributes on individual users in your IdP, which worked well for simple setups. This new group-based approach scales much better for companies managing larger teams or complex permission structures.

With a group-based approach, new users will automatically get proper access from the start, ensuring consistent access control across your tools and removing any manual role assignment work on your part.

That’s why we’re announcing the launch of Commitment Manager, the evolution of Ramp Plans designed to give you a streamlined, flexible, and comprehensive visibility into your cloud commitments.

Key improvements include:

  • Contextualized insights that account for marketplace consumption limits and your specific contractual terms.
  • Enhanced visualization with daily updates, detailed service-level breakdowns for marketplace spend, and period-by-period commitment tracking.
  • Greater flexibility to accommodate complex scenarios like contract amendments, promotional credits, and excess/shortfall rollovers.
  • Track all your commitments in one place regardless of whether they were signed through DoiT or directly with cloud providers, giving you a single unified view of all your cloud commitment tracking.

Good news for existing Ramp Plans users: most commitment(s) have been automatically migrated to Commitment Manager, and you'll immediately benefit from the improved tracking and enhanced visualization capabilities without any action required on your part. If you do not see your commitment, reach out to your DoiT Account Manager to have it set up. 

If you have a direct commitment with a cloud provider or weren't previously tracking your commitments in Ramp Plans, create a new commitment in Commitment Manager to explore the full experience!

OpenAI integration for DoiT Cloud Intelligence™: Track and optimize your OpenAI consumption alongside your cloud(s) spend

DoiT Cloud Intelligence's new OpenAI integration lets you see all your OpenAI and cloud costs in one place, making it easier for FinOps and engineering teams to track, manage, and optimize their complete technology investments

After connecting your OpenAI account(s), you can explore your OpenAI cost and usage in DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ in several ways:

1. OpenAI Lens: Ready-to-use dashboard providing a comprehensive overview of your OpenAI costs and usage with views into your cost by model, daily spend by project, and more.


2. Cost Allocation: Allocate your OpenAI spend by business purpose (production vs. development, product A vs. product B) using the new dimensions from the OpenAI integration — or combine OpenAI costs with your cloud and other imported costs in a single allocation for complete cost visibility across all your technology investments.

In the example below, we’re creating allocations that track OpenAI costs across development and production environments for two different AI tools: a customer assistant and a product description generator.

3. Custom Reports: Build reports querying the new dimensions and system labels imported through the OpenAI integration that help you understand aspects of your OpenAI spend and usage. 

For example, you can break down OpenAI spending by individual users across your organization to understand consumption patterns and implement appropriate quotas.

4. Anomaly Detection: Automatically surface unusual patterns in your teams’ OpenAI usage and take action before it impacts your bill and operations.

5. Unified view of IT costs: View OpenAI costs alongside your cloud costs and other imported 3rd-party tool costs (DataDog, Snowflake) in your Pulse dashboard, a preset dashboard giving you an at-a-glance view of all your cloud and 3rd party tooling costs together.

The OpenAI integration is available for all the customers on the DoiT Cloud Intelligence Enhanced or Enterprise tiers, as well as on the DoiT Cloud Navigator Enhanced, Premium or Enterprise tiers.

Resolve anomalies faster by engaging DoiT experts

We have simplified the customer journey to request DoiT cloud expert advice to resolve your cost anomalies as they arise. Now, you can initiate a request for expert advice directly from the cost anomaly detail screen by clicking “Contact a human expert.” Once the support ticket is created, it can be tracked via view requests screen.

DoiT's experts are on-hand 24/7 to get to the root cause of the anomaly, provide prescriptive actions to resolve the issue, and suggest architectural changes to prevent it from recurring. 

One-click simplicity
Clicking the contact button on the anomaly page brings you directly to the ticket creation screen, with the pertinent details of the anomaly already populated along with the standard option to schedule a 15-minute initial assessment call.

Introducing Allocations: A Unified Approach to Mapping Cloud Costs

Accurate cost allocation is fundamental to a strong FinOps practice. For the past five years, DoiT customers have used Attributions and Attribution Groups to assign cloud spend to the appropriate business units, applications, and projects. We're now introducing Allocations - a streamlined experience that unifies both features and expands what’s possible. 

Allocations allows you to organize and group costs using your own categories – like teams, products, or environments – so you can see exactly where cloud spend is going, identify shared costs, and find non-governed usage. Easily define custom groupings of cloud resources based on any combination of dimensions, labels, and tags even when cost data isn’t perfectly tagged. We’ve also added new ways to create flexible rules with filters like ‘starts with,’ ‘ends with’ and ‘includes.’ 

These allocations can be used to track usage and cost in Cloud Analytics reports, measure business-specific operational data with custom metrics, set budget scopes, detect cost anomalies, and receive daily or weekly digests. For costs that don't fit into defined rules within a group allocation, a pre-defined "Unallocated" bucket ensures nothing slips through.

We built Allocations to simplify cost grouping, reduce friction in the setup process, and boost adoption. The new feature offers a faster, more intuitive UI for defining allocation rules using operator logic. You can even duplicate existing allocations with a single click to save time. 

Allocations are now available for all customers. Existing Attributions, Attribution Groups,  and any linked reports, anomalies and budgets have been automatically migrated to Allocations.  

With everything in one place and easier to manage, Allocations improves your ability to implement and scale your FinOps practices.
