More configurable, more accountable invoicing

We're happy to announce two new invoicing capabilities for DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ that allow you to more accurately distribute costs across your organization.

Invoice splitting of Google Cloud Marketplace Spend

DoiT invoices for Google Cloud Marketplace now allow you to split Marketplace spend into multiple invoices to more accurately attribute purchases across your organization.

This feature helps you avoid the time-consuming task of separating Marketplace spend from your overall cloud expenses, ensuring more accurate cost allocation.

On your billing profile page, you will now see a new configuration option under “Invoice settings” to separate your Google Cloud Marketplace spend under the General heading.

This is an opt-in feature, so no action is mandatory. All configuration changes made before the end of the calendar month will be reflected automatically in your next invoice of Google Cloud Marketplace spend.

Split DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ costs across multiple billing profiles

DoiT now lets you split your asset spending on invoices in different ways based on your billing profile, making it easier to separate asset costs from other cloud expenses for more accurate accounting.

Here’s how it works: Currently each asset (AWS account, GCP project, etc.) can be assigned to a billing profile, thus allowing for separate invoices to different entities.

The split cost feature allows your DoiT Cloud Intelligence licensing fee to be applied proportionally to the same billing profiles that are associated with each asset. Costs are split between the minimum fee or a percent of usage, whichever total amount is greater, as you can  see in the examples below:

Scenario 1: 2% cloud spend exceeds minimum fee

In this case the 2% of cloud spend is $10,000 and thus exceeds the minimum fee. The $10,000 is thus split proportionally amongst the billing profiles.

Scenario 2: Minimum fee exceeds 2% cloud spend

In this case the 2% of cloud spend is $2,000 and thus is less than the minimum fee. The $2,000 is thus split proportionally amongst the billing profiles.
