Your AI assistant now speaks your cloud FinOps Data: Introducing the MCP server for DoiT Cloud Intelligence™
Today we’re launching DoiT's Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server for DoiT Cloud Intelligence™, allowing you to instantly get insights on your cloud usage by asking plain-language questions through any Large Language Model (LLM) tools that support MCP like Claude and Cursor.
Instead of navigating complex dashboards or writing custom queries, you can now ask natural language questions about your cloud infrastructure through any MCP-compatible AI assistant.
What can you do with the DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ MCP server?
Our MCP server connects your cloud data from the DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ platform directly to your existing AI solution, enabling you to gain a variety of FinOps-related insights without interrupting your ongoing workflows:
- Find what's driving your cloud costs: Identify your highest spend areas, dig into resource-level details, and uncover hidden charges that might be inflating your bill
- Spot cloud outages impacting your applications: Get real-time information about active cloud provider incidents that might be affecting your systems, including detailed error messages and resolution timelines
- Detect unusual cost patterns: Quickly identify anomalies in your cloud spending and dig into the specific resources causing unexpected charges
Getting started is simple
To use DoiT's MCP server, you'll need:
- Node.js v18 or higher
- Your DoiT API key (grab this from your DoiT profile)
Once you have these, configure your AI client that supports MCP to access data from our DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ platform by updating its configuration file to include the DoIT MCP server connection details.
For detailed setup instructions, check out our GitHub repository or the DoiT Developer Hub.
This is just the beginning – we're actively expanding our MCP server to support more DoiT Cloud Intelligence™ features, bringing conversational access to your entire FinOps management experience.
Try it today and experience how much easier cloud cost analysis becomes when your AI tools have direct access to your actual cloud data!
